Civilian Police Academy
The Paxton Police Department offers a Civilian Police Academy to anyone over the age of 18. The Academy will be held at the police department and will run approximately 9 weeks. Classes will be held on Tuesday nights from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
This training is a great opportunity for those who are contemplating entering the police field or for the average citizen who is interested in learning about the police profession and the Paxton Police Department. During the 8 weeks students will be exposed to an insight as to what being a police officer entails. At the completion of the course certificates will be awarded to those who have attended.

Operating under the Influence (alcohol and drugs)
Gangs
Interview and Interrogation
Court Procedure
Drugs
K9 Program
Firearms Safety Course (certification included)
Domestic Violence
Sexual Assaults
